Cafe Royal

A digital print of my illustration of The Cafe Royal, part of my Edindoodles series

First opened in 1865 as a wine bar, Cafe Royal quickly became a literary and artistic hub in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, welcoming creative greats like Oscar Wilde, Aubrey Beardsley, and Arthur Conan Doyle.
In 1973, it played host to rock history when David Bowie held his legendary “Last Supper” party here, retiring his iconic Ziggy Stardust persona
